Behavior-inhibition effects of hippocampal dentate gyrus overactivation after single ethanol vapor

Alcohol use disorder (AUD) is a common mental that may cause dementia and mood disorders such as anxiety. The dentate gyrus (DG) key brain region for well anxiety, while the underlying mechanisms of DG-based behavioral impairments induced by ethanol are not fully understood. Here we report behavior inhibition using vapor exposure procedure combined with tasks. results indicate single leads to working memory decreased anxiety-like behaviors 24 h after exposure. Notably, c-Fos staining shows hippocampal DG overactivated administration, which implies plays pivotal role in mediating This links overactivation effects on functions ethanol-induced inhibition, suggesting future studies concerning cognitive focus more abnormal activity this region.
